15 RIVA Athletes Competed at 2026 Legion National Championships

There's no better way to close out a successful outdoor season than by cheering on athletes in Riversdale Athletics Club (RIVA) colours on the national stage.

RIVA is proud to share the results of the 15 athletes who have qualified to represent the club at the 2026 Legion National Youth Track & Field Championships, taking place in Regina, Saskatchewan Aug. 7- 9, 2026.

Qualifying for Legion Nationals is a significant accomplishment. The championship brings together Canada's top U16 and U18 athletes, with competitors earning their place through standards and strong performances throughout the season. This year's RIVA team reflects the depth and diversity of the club, with athletes competing across sprint, distance, hurdles,  jump, throw, and relay events. Their success is the result of months of dedication, summer practices, personal best performances, and the support of coaches, families, teammates, and volunteers.

For many athletes, Legion Nationals represents the culmination of an outstanding season. For others, it is another step along their long-term development journey. Regardless of results, the experience of competing on the national stage is one that will help shape them as athletes and individuals.
