Riversdale Athletics Club Launches Next Generation of Leadership as Registration Opens for 2026-27

31-August-2026. SASKATOON, Saskatchewan — As Riversdale Athletics Club (RIVA) looks ahead to cross country, fall base training, and preparations for the 2027 indoor season, the club is pleased to introduce the leadership team that will guide its next chapter while opening registration for the 2026-27 season.

Following the relocation of longtime Head Coach RossAnn Edwards to BC, Riversdale Athletics Club is entering a new era built on collaborative leadership and coaching development. The club is drawing on the combined expertise of an experienced coaching and operations team to continue delivering exceptional athlete development while positioning the club for long-term success. 

The new leadership structure reflects intentional succession planning and the continued growth of RIVA's coaching community alongside guidance of our board of directors. RossAnn continue sinto this year as a Mentor Coach for RIVA as part of her relocation, specializing in the Middle Distance and Cross Country. Together, the leadership team brings expertise across athlete development, endurance, technical events, club operations, and organizational leadership, ensuring the club remains well positioned to support athletes at every stage of their journey.

RIVA’s 2026 - 2027 Coaching team includes:

  • Chris Schneider – Club Lead Coach and Lead Sprints + Horizontal Jumps Coach

    • Williams Ogunnubi- Assistant Coach, Sprints

    • Nathan Granger - Assistant Coach, Sprints

  • Brett Schatz - Lead Mid Distance + Cross Country Coach

    • RossAnn Edwards - Mentor Coach (located in BC)

    • Jersey Lange - Assistant Coach, Mid. Distance / Cross Country

  • Preston Dodge – Lead Junior Development Coach

    • Julia Milnthorp - Assistant Coach, Junior Development Program

    • Ryder Germain - Assistant Coach, Junior Development Program

    • Liam Kornelson - Assistant Coach, Junior Development Program

    • Logan Kaban - Assistant Coach, Junior Development Program

  • Adrea Ehman – Club Administrator & Hurdles Coach

  • Nathan Granger – Lead, Vertical Jumps Coach

  • Lane Brittnel - Lead, Pole Vault Coach

Plus! This season we have an exciting partnership with Running Wild Athletics who will be offering throws training from Coaches Brett LaChance and Carter Cheveldayoff. 

Athletes and families can expect the same athlete-centred philosophy, commitment to technical excellence, and welcoming community that has defined Riversdale Athletics Club for generations.

With registration now open for the 2026-27 season, Riversdale Athletics Club is focused on continued athlete development for returning members while welcoming new athletes and families into the club. Programs will continue to support athletes from Junior Development through high performance, offering age-appropriate coaching and a clear pathway for long-term athletic development.
